Victory over Japan Day (VJ Day) marks the formal end of World War II after Japan’s surrender to the Allied forces on August 15, 1945. This event, celebrated on August 15th each year, acknowledges the sacrifices made by Allied forces and celebrates the restoration of peace. To commemorate this historical day, Swinstead will light the Village Beacon Brazier at 9.30pm sharp, and afterwards raise a glass in the Village Hall Bar. The Bar will open at 7pm, for anyone wishing to drop in prior.
