Ancaster Karting forms part of Ancaster Leisure, a family run venue begun by the Johnson family over 25 years ago. Starting from a farming background, they developed a full-length, purpose-built outdoor karting circuit stretching to the maximum international length of 1,200 metres. The track is configurable into up to six layouts and illuminated by floodlights, allowing both daytime and night-time racing.
Ancaster Karting caters to a wide range of abilities – from complete beginners to experienced racers. They host regular monthly race events, including Open Grand Prix weekends where drivers compete in two adrenaline-fuelled 20-lap races, as well as endurance formats such as a three-hour or even 24-hour team endurance race in Spring 2025. Participants can drive in teams, with practice and qualifying leading into long-format race sessions, many lasting into the evening with camping available on-site.
Special events include the English Open Deaf Karting Championship, which took place in May 2025. The circuit has earned recognition on the international stage, winning the Best Rental Kart Track award at the Fastline International Karting Awards in Dortmund, and previously receiving nominations for Best Customer Experience.
Facilities extend beyond racing: there’s an on-site café and licensed bar, equipment is provided including helmets, overalls and gloves (balaclavas available to buy), and packages cater to stag, hen, birthday and corporate outings. Parents can book for juniors aged 4–8 on a separate electric kids track, while older children and teens participate in the Biz Cadet category.
The broader Ancaster Leisure site also offers paintball, archery, laser tag and even ten-pin bowling, making it a multi-activity destination.
