Grantham’s local transport scheme driving vulnerable and disadvantaged people to medical and other appointments.
Grantham Area Community Transport is a volunteer car scheme provided by volunteer drivers dedicating their own spare time to ensure that others who are not a fortunate as themselves can access facilities we all take for granted.
The people who can use this service are the young or elderly, disabled or otherwise disadvantaged. In other words anyone who is unable to use public transport or where no public transport is available.
We only ask that anyone using our services is able to get in and out of a car without too much assistance, as our volunteers are not qualified to lift anyone and may hurt either themselves or the passenger if they did so incorrectly. It may be possible to transport wheelchairs but please make sure that when you call us to ask for transport you give us plenty of notice so that we can make sure that the vehicle assigned to you will be able to carry a wheel chair.
If you would like to talk to us or use our service or volunteer to be a driver, please call Grantham 01476 978916, we would be happy to talk to you.
