Kumon Grantham Study Centre, run by instructor Ros Collins since February 2016, is based at the church hall of St Mary’s Church on Barrowby Road, opposite Asda in Grantham. Kumon supports preschool, primary, and secondary students with both maths and English programmes designed to nurture self-learning and confidence through structured, daily practice.
Rather than traditional tuition, Kumon focuses on building independent learning skills: children complete short daily worksheets at home and attend structured centre sessions weekly. Each student begins with a diagnostic assessment to establish the optimum starting level, then progresses through incremental worksheets with instructor guidance, building persistence, concentration, and time-management skills as they go.
The centre’s class times are:
Students typically study for around 30 minutes per subject during each visit.
Tuition fees include a one-off registration fee and a monthly per-subject fee. Kumon aims not just to improve school performance but also to instil confidence, discipline, and independent learning, helping children who are either filling gaps or looking to work ahead of their school year.
