Twinlakes Park, nestled a mile northeast of Melton Mowbray in the Leicestershire countryside, is a vibrant 70acre family theme park that opened in September 2003, just months after the land was acquired. Designed with younger children in mind, the majority of its rides cater to ages around 4 to 12, and access without children is restricted, making it a uniquely child-focused destination

The park is divided into themed zones hosting well over 50 attractions including a powered rollercoaster, family rides like bumper boats and teacups, a log flume, splash zones, go-karts, and interactive play structures such as the Icarus Sky Flyer and Excalibur swings. Indoor soft play centres ensure it remains appealing even during wet weather. It also features a miniature railway that links across zones and thematic play areas for toddlers and older kids.

Animal attractions are a highlight: the Red Rooster farm brings visitors close to pigs, goats, rabbits and other domestic creatures, while the Bird of Prey Centre offers daily demonstrations where you might see falcons, owls or eagles in flight.

Twinlakes runs a rich calendar of seasonal events. Its Eggstreme Easter includes a grotto and free chocolate egg hunts; Family Scream Park transforms the site into a Halloween experience with pumpkin picking and themed entertainment; at Christmas it becomes a winter wonderland with festive lights, Santa grottoes, and nighttime opening. There are also character days featuring beloved figures like Paddington™ or Peppa Pig, and annual fireworks and live music events.

Facilities include a variety of indoor and outdoor dining options, picnic areas, clean toilets, and ample free parking. The park is easily reached by car from Melton Mowbray via the A607 and accessible via local taxi links from Melton railway station, which connects to major cities including Leicester and Grantham.

Ideal for families with young children, Twinlakes combines ride fun, animal encounters, soft play and water zones, and year-round events—making it a lively and enduring Midland’s attraction
