Woodland Waters occupies a scenic 72-acre wooded valley just northeast of Grantham, close to the village of Ancaster. It blends peaceful touring pitches, lodge accommodation, and five well stocked fishing lakes, including one 14-acre specimen lake and several match lakes home to carp, tench, bream, roach, rudd, and pike. The site has been developed over a number of years into a family-oriented retreat combining leisure amenities with countryside tranquillity.
Tented camping is no longer accepted, but touring caravans and motorhomes are welcome across around 120 pitches, many with electric hookups; there’s also a rally field available for group events. Owners can rent Lakeview and Woodview lodges overlooking the water, and day visitors are welcome at wooded trails, lakeside picnic areas, and a children’s play space sheltered by mature trees and woodland paths.
The heart of the communal experience is Woody’s Bar & Lakeview Restaurant, offering locally sourced meals, ales, pool, darts, boules, and jukebox entertainment – all while enjoying lake views and cosy woodburning warmth. This relaxed social hub hosts occasional live music, quiz evenings, BBQs, and fishing matches, fostering an inclusive, communal atmosphere.
Fishing plays a central role, with night permits available, regular match events, and notable catches including big roach and bream nets topping 30–40lb. Birch Lake, accessed via woodland walks, is known for silverfish species and day ticket access for lodge guests. Anglers consistently praise the venue’s quality and variety of fish stocks.
Just off the A153 and under 15 minutes’ drive from Grantham, the park offers a convenient rural escape. Nearby attractions like Belton House and Ancaster Leisure activities are easy to reach, making Woodland Waters a flexible base for fishing, family stays, or countryside relaxation.
Overall, Woodland Waters Holiday Park stands out as a refined mix of fishing haven, family holiday spot, and community campsite – emphasizing nature, leisure, and convivial hospitality.
